This is the first studio album from Alan Lomax since bad diagnosis in 1964. Alan Lomax’s debut, ‘Woodie Guthrie’, does not fit easily into one genre. For older fans Woodie Guthrie will put a massive smile accross your face. the great dust storm (dust storm disaster) and i ain’t got no home is really good.
A great put together song. It’s such an underrated song. Alan Lomax emotions are reflected through vigilante man. Although dust can’t kill me is very melodic it is far from sad. dust pneumonia blues is probably the highlight of the album. pretty boy floyd - I just love it. blowin’ down the road (i ain’t going to be treated this way) to me is the best you can get from Alan Lomax. Lyrics of tom joad, part 1 are precise and evocative. tom joad, part 2 is a striking and quite long song. dust bowl refugee make listening to Alan Lomax like being in some sort of time warp. do-re-mi is the first taste of the new album. dust bowl blues - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Alan Lomax. Charming song, great melody.
