Legende carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. When you buy a Alan Stivell album, you know exactly what you’re getting! On the Ireland charts, superstar Alan Stivell’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Legende is the best essence of Alan Stivell.
Marc’heien has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Barn is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Azenor is simple, dignified and effective, Alan Stivell refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Sawen actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Alan Stivell’s face. Tour an Arvor - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Eireog Shineidin marked the continuation of Alan Stivell in style evolution. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Legende. As always, Alan Stivell’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Dagda and Morrigan. The opening track Eriu is very much like you would expect from other albums. The song Dans le tertre ending is my favorite… so catchy! Le songe d’Angus gives taste of what makes Alan Stivell special as a musician. Le pacte is perfect work of Alan Stivell. Charming song, great melody.
