On Au Club Saint-Germain, Vols. 1-3 CD2 album, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. There is so much to love about Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. Overall, I would highly recommend Au Club Saint-Germain, Vols. 1-3 CD2 CD.
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Like someone in love, which shows, blatantly, how much Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers has evolved as a singer. Along came Manon is perfect. Although Out of the past is very melodic it is far from sad. A night in Tunisia is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Ending with the theme - This one makes me want to not only sing along.
