It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Art Tatum energies, virtually a rebirth. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Art Tatum’s new album to that on ‘Art Tatum Meets Ben Webster’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Art Tatum Meets Ben Webster’ really is amazing. This album is awesome.
All The Things You Are is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Have You Met Miss Jones. Art Tatum offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Night And Day has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Art Tatum’s strong vocals come to the fore. My Ideal is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. I like Where Or When because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Gone With The Wind (Alt. Take is pretty funky and mellow. Gone With The Wind (Ait. Take is one of the best records ever. Have You Met Miss Jones (Alt. to me is the best you can get from Art Tatum.
