When you buy a Astor Piazzolla album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Astor Piazzolla was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Astor Piazzolla and Armaguedon together. While no new Astor Piazzolla album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1977 tour in Australia. One of Astor Piazzolla’s best albums yet.
After about the third Armaguedon listen through, I began to believe this song is Astor Piazzolla’s essence. Bureau De Poste De Genes makes a person feel amazing. Seul Tout Seul without a doubt is the standout song of Armaguedon. Theatre A Paris has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Rue De Londres is the albums biggest surprise. There is excellent mix of music in Musee Madame Tussaud. Les Halles stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Pare De Saint-cloud is a gorgeous, simple song by Astor Piazzolla at the top of his game. Hotel P.l.m. is outstanding work of Astor Piazzolla. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Canal A Ostende is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. In Pare De Saint-cloud it becomes nowhere more obvious that Astor Piazzolla has yet to define own style. Chanson Pour Un Bomme Triste is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Song Station Taxis is actually a funny song. Get Armaguedon and turn on Hotel P.l.m. if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Quartier Marais is simple, dignified and effective, Astor Piazzolla refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Armaguedon couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Generique - Theme De Carrier. Canal A Ostende - I just love it. Panique Au Theatre (1:30) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Jeux Du Theatre is one of my favorite songs by Astor Piazzolla. I’ve found myself listening to Orchestre Du Theatre back to back and back many times. Final is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about.
