It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Barrabas energies, virtually a rebirth. I am not a real funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Check Mate’ really is amazing. Check Mate is an amazing album, racked with beauty.IF you love Barrabas, ‘Check Mate’ Mp3’s is the best!
As always, Barrabas’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Along The Shore had me crying as I was able to relate so well. I like the idea behind Make It Easy. Family Sice is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Check Mate have ended. You have to get essence of the Mellow Blow’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Thank Your Love still maintains something of a specific flourish. Barrabas is one of artists that allow his songs like Four Seasons Woman to stand on their own and be heard.
