After seeing Third Uncle, I had to have a good Bauhaus cd. There is so much to love about Bauhaus, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since Bauhaus last CD (Sky’s Gone Out) on Sparrow Records back in 1982, I have felt a massive void in my life. If you love Bauhaus as much as I do, then Bauhaus Sky’s Gone Out is the CD for you!
Silent Hedges gives good insight into the truths. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Sky’s Gone Out is In The Night. Swing The Heartache has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. It’s such an underrated song. The Three Shadows Parts I is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. The Three Shadows Parts Ii - Okay, I just talked about depth. Still going through Sky’s Gone Out and coming to appreciate The Three Shadows Parts Iii more and more with every listen. The first time I listened to All We Ever Wanted Was Everything I was struck by its marvelous sound. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener.
