After debuting at No. 1 last week, B.B.King’s album Singin’ the Blues - The Blues falls to No. 2 with 489,000, a sales slide of 72%. On Singin’ the Blues - The Blues album, B.B.King have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new B.B.King album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1960 tour in Africa. This is one of B.B.King best albums
When listening to You Upset Me Baby, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. 3 Oclock Blues is the albums biggest surprise. I hope to keep hearing B.B.King works for a long time to come. B.B.King allows each song to breathe and flourish. Simple and heartfelt closing track You Know I Love You closes Singin’ the Blues - The Blues on a high note. Sweet Little Angel good vocals. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Some of the arrangements found on Singin’ the Blues - The Blues are surprisingly edgy. Crying Wont Help You has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. One listen to the sheer beauty of Why Do Things Happen To Me was all I needed. Ruby Lee marked the continuation of B.B.King in style evolution. When My Heart Beats Like A Hammer is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Boogie Woogie Woman. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. That Aint The Way To Do It is outstanding work of B.B.King. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
