While no new Big Joe Williams album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1965 tour in North America. These Are My Blues is an amazing album, racked with beauty. There were many famous songs of Big Joe Williams available. Another great offering from Big Joe Williams.
Vitamin A Blues is one of my favorite songs by Big Joe Williams. These Are My Blues (Gonna Sing ‘Em For Myself) stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. The sound of Sun Never Go Down is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. I like the agression and power of Sloppy Drunk. Put On Your Nightcap is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Mellow Peaches - For me, this is the best of the album. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Lowdown Dirty Shame from the beginning to the end. Charming song, great melody. When I listen to Good Morning, Little School Girl in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Big Joe Williams is hitting on all cylinders in Bottle Up and Go. Boogie Chillun is the first taste of the new album. Baby, Please Don’t Go is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Big Joe Williams released so far. Such hits like A Man Amongst Men will leave you hooked. ‘56 Plymouth gives good insight into the truths.
