First Time I Met The Blues (Buddy Guy) - A classic Blues - Various Artists track. Listening to Keep It To Myself (Buddy Guy) you can hear that Blues - Various Artists has still amazing chemistry with band members. Get Albert King - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4 and turn on Too Poor (Detroit Jr.) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Jinglin’ Baby (Eddie Burns) is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. The Sun Is Shining (alternate; Elmore James) is simply exquisite. I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James) (2:34) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. I like Something’s Got A Hold On Me (Etta James) because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Blues - Various Artists. Killing Floor (Howlin’ Wolf) is one of the coolest songs Blues - Various Artists has ever recorded. The Red Rooster (Howlin’ Wolf) has a fun tempo. Music and lyrics of One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer (John Lee Hooker) creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Wang Dang Doodle (Koko Taylor) is pretty funky and mellow. It’s such an underrated song. Dirty Work Goin’ On (Little Joe Blue) is perfect work of Blues - Various Artists. Blues - Various Artists must have run out of lyrics on the next track Satisfied (Little Milton). This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Albert King - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4. Once you hear The Shakedown (Lloyd Glenn), you will listen to it over and over. Blue Shadows (Lowell Fulson) is the more seemingly obscure song on Albert King - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4 that bear up best to repeated listening. Charming song, great melody. Bring It On Home (Sonny Boy Williamson) still maintains something of a specific flourish. Nine Below Zero (Sonny Boy Williamson) I just LOVE this mix! Wrinkles (The Big Three Trio) one is one of the better boring ones. After about the third Good Moanin’ Blues (Walter Horton) listen through, I began to believe this song is Blues - Various Artists’s essence.
