The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘64 is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Blues - Various Artists was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Blues - Various Artists and The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘64 together. While no new Blues - Various Artists album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1964 tour in Australia. I’m Trying To Make London My Home (Sonny Boy Williamson) and Dissatisfied (Sunnyland Slim) is really good.
Voice and instruments in Dissatisfied (Sunnyland Slim) complement each other. Everytime I Get To Drinkin’ (Sunnyland Slim) had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Ain’t It A Pitty (Lightnin’ Hopkins) is one of these floating songs. A great put together song. I’m Tearing Little Daddy (Sonny Boy Williamson) as a highlight of The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘64 contains a ton of excellent melodies. Cotton’ Pickin’ Blues (John Henry Barbee) is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. No Title Boogie (Hubert Sumlin) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘64. Dust My Broom (Howlin’ Wolf) the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe.
