This disc has all of the essential Blues - Various Artists classics. Ivan Grach has compared writing for Blues - Various Artists’s new album to that on ‘The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘69′ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Blues - Various Artists. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Going Up and Down (Earl Hooker)
Only one song from The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘69 named Going Up and Down (Earl Hooker) really got me. Medley: Rocking With Chromanica / I Feel Bad, Bad, Bad (Carey Bell) - To me, this is the best song on the The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘69. Running Shoes (Juke Boy Bonner) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The American Folk and Blues Festival Live ‘69. Zydeco Et Past Sale (Clifton Chenier) is a very catchy tune. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Blue Shadow Fall (Earl Hooker) from the beginning to the end. Wrap It Up (Clifton Chenier) is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. I like Looking Good (Magic Sam) because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Across The Atlantic Ocean (Whistling Alex Moore) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Blues - Various Artists breathes new life into the music in John Jackson Breakdown.
