Walter Horton - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4 isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Great Blues right here!

Within the first few notes of First Time I Met The Blues (Buddy Guy) it’s perfectly clear that Blues - Various Artists is living this song. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Keep It To Myself (Buddy Guy). As always, Blues - Various Artists’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Jinglin’ Baby (Eddie Burns) - I like this one. The Sun Is Shining (alternate; Elmore James) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Blues - Various Artists’s face. I think I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James) is the best song Blues - Various Artists has ever done. Something’s Got A Hold On Me (Etta James) - I just love it. Sitting Here Alone (Hound Dog Taylor) is astounding song though, very addictive. Goin’ Down Slow (Howlin’ Wolf) gives good insight into the truths. Killing Floor (Howlin’ Wolf) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Music in The Red Rooster (Howlin’ Wolf) is perfect as in all tracks of Walter Horton - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4. One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer (John Lee Hooker) is a amazing, simple song by Blues - Various Artists at the top of his game. Wang Dang Doodle (Koko Taylor) - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Blues - Various Artists is hitting on all cylinders in What Kind Of Man Is That- (Koko Taylor). Dirty Work Goin’ On (Little Joe Blue) - a classic song. Satisfied (Little Milton) as a highlight of Walter Horton - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4 contains a ton of amazing melodies. One listen to the sheer beauty of We’re Gonna Make It (Little Milton) was all I needed. The Shakedown (Lloyd Glenn) is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I believe Blue Shadows (Lowell Fulson) is one of the most astounding, heartfelt songs ever written. Musically That’s Why I Don’t Mind (Muddy Waters) is superior to other tracks in Walter Horton - Chess Blues (1960-1967) - CD4. Bring It On Home (Sonny Boy Williamson) is nothing but pure genius. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Wrinkles (The Big Three Trio) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Good Moanin’ Blues (Walter Horton) is possibly the best song Blues - Various Artists has come up.
