It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Blues - Various Artists energies, virtually a rebirth. Now signed to Blues - Various Artists’s EMI Records, the title track from second album “Willie Mabon - Chess Blues (1952-1954) - CD2″ leads Blues - Various Artists’s back-to-school campaign. This album has some very good songs like Remember (Alberta Adams) and Hard Time Gettin’ Started (Eddie Boyd). Blues - Various Artists is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Hard Time Gettin’ Started (Eddie Boyd) have really caught my ear and imagination. Whose Muddy Shoes (Elmore James) - A classic Blues - Various Artists track. Eight Ball (Gus Jenkins) great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Vocals of Blues - Various Artists in Untitled Instrumental (Henry Gray and Morris Pejoe) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Blues - Various Artists is one of artists that allow his songs like Evil (Howlin’ Wolf) to stand on their own and be heard. Forty Four (Howlin’ Wolf) is one of my favorite songs by Blues - Various Artists. Mama Talk to Your Daughter (J. B. Lenoir) is excellent and different song. Ice Cream Man (John Brim) is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Walkin’ the Boogie (alternate; John Lee Hooker) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Blues with a Feeling (Little Walter) is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Don’t Need No Horse (Little Walter) is simply cool. Some call Fast Boogie (Little Walter) from Willie Mabon - Chess Blues (1952-1954) - CD2 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. After about the third Got to Find My Baby (alternate; Little Walter) listen through, I began to believe this song is Blues - Various Artists’s essence. Juke (Little Walter) - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Blues - Various Artists. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Broken Heart (alternate; Memphis Minnie) can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Blues - Various Artists is all about. Conjur Man (Memphis Minnie) is possibly the best song Blues - Various Artists has come up. Hoochie Coochie Man (Muddy Waters) is the albums biggest surprise. Put Who’s Gonna Be Your Sweet Man When I’m Gone (Muddy Waters) into car stereo for your highway driving Listening to Funeral Hearse at My Door (Rocky Fuller) you can hear that Blues - Various Artists has still amazing chemistry with band members. Got to Have It (Willie Mabon) is another favourite of mine. I’m Mad (Willie Mabon) - To me, this is the best song on the Willie Mabon - Chess Blues (1952-1954) - CD2. Truckin’ Little Woman (Willie Nix) gets you up and jumping.
