It has been seven years Bobby Bare’ last studio CD, “Drunk And Crazy” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Bobby Bare energies, virtually a rebirth. Self-described as Country with lots of words, Bobby Bare comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Drunk And Crazy touched my soul like nothing else.
This is one hell of a track. Bobby Bare offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. I Can Almost See Houston From Here is a fine track on any terms. Such hits like If That Ain’t Love What Is will leave you hooked. Rock And Roll Hotel is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. This track is full of harmonies and gets Drunk And Crazy off to a relaxing start. Appaloosa Rider is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Willie Jones (w Charlie Daniels) is just simply stunning. I can’t stop humming along I Gotta Get Rid Of This Band. You can find feelings on this piece of art. I’ve Never Gone To Bed with An Ugly Woman gives good insight into the truths. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Bobby Bare.
