There is no doubt that Bobby Blue Bland has talent. While no new Bobby Blue Bland album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1964 tour in South America. This album has some very good songs like How Does A Cheatin’ Woman Feel and St. James Infirmary. Great Blues right here!
First time I heard St. James Infirmary was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I’ve Just Got To Forget You has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Bobby Blue Bland’s strong vocals come to the fore. Within the first few notes of Jelly Jelly Jelly it’s perfectly clear that Bobby Blue Bland is living this song. Nice and different song. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Turn On Your Love Light: The Duke Recordings Vol.2 CD.1. Who Will The Next Fool Be is one of the best records ever. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. If you are a Bobby Blue Bland fan, you will love Twistin’ Up The Road. Stormy Monday Blues - arguably the best track on Turn On Your Love Light: The Duke Recordings Vol.2 CD.1 album. Turn On Your Love Light still maintains something of a specific flourish. From the moment you listen to Your Friends you’re hooked. Yield Not To Temptation is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Turn On Your Love Light: The Duke Recordings Vol.2 CD.1. You’re Worth It All is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. No Sweeter Girl is probably the most interesting track on Turn On Your Love Light: The Duke Recordings Vol.2 CD.1. The Feeling Is Gone - This one is lively and fun. 36-22-36 is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. In Call On Me full palet of sound is used by Bobby Blue Bland to accentuate the presentation. Song That’s The Way Love Is is actually a funny song. Ain’t It A Good Thing defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Honky Tonk is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
