‘Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. While no new Brian Eno album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1983 tour in Australia. Since Brian Eno last CD (Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac) on Capitol Records back in 1983, I have felt a massive void in my life. If you love Brian Eno as much as I do, then Brian Eno Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac is the CD for you!
Always Returning is one of these floating songs. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Deep Blue Day - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Silver Morning is the more seemingly obscure song on Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac that bear up best to repeated listening. Drift is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Brian Eno released so far. Under Stars II is a fine track on any terms. An Ending (Ascent) is probably the highlight of the album. Signals is a bit of a show-tune. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtrac is Matta. I can’t stop playing The Secret Place. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
