Since Brian Eno last CD (The Pearl) on Savoy Records back in 1984, I have felt a massive void in my life. While no new Brian Eno album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1984 tour in Africa. Lead single “Late October” and “A Stream With Bright Fish” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If you love Brian Eno as much as I do, then Brian Eno The Pearl is the CD for you!
A Stream With Bright Fish is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. The Silver Ball one of the best in my collection. Against The Sky is the albums biggest surprise. Lost In The Humming Air is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Brian Eno released so far. Dark-Eyed Sister - A catchy, upbeat tune. Their Memories is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. The Pearl is the album’s biggest hit, I think. The song Foreshadowed ending is my favorite… so catchy! Best song on the album, love it. I believe Still Return is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written.
