While no new Bud Powell album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1958 tour in South America. There were many famous songs of Bud Powell available. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Bud Powell’s album The Scene Changes (The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. 5) falls to No. 2 with 354,000, a sales slide of 66%. If I may, I suggest “Cleopatra’s Dream”. That one song is amazing!
Duid Deed - A classic Bud Powell track. Down With It gives good insight into the truths. One listen to the sheer beauty of Danceland was all I needed. Music of Borderick is gentle, never overbearing. I have all of Bud Powell’s tracks and Crossin The Channel is probably the most his introspective effort. Comin Up is the astounding blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Getting There is a bit different from Bud Powell stereotypical stuff. The Scene Changes has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Comin Up Alt is the more seemingly obscure song on The Scene Changes (The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. 5) that bear up best to repeated listening.
