Since Camilo Sesto last CD (Algo de Mi) on Sparrow Records back in 1972, I have felt a massive void in my life. Algo de Mi isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Now signed to Camilo Sesto’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Algo de Mi” leads Camilo Sesto’s back-to-school campaign. Another great offering from Camilo Sesto.
Lanza Tu Voz is one of the more up-tempo songs on Algo de Mi. This track is full of harmonies and gets Algo de Mi off to a relaxing start. Mendigo de Amor stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Esa Paloma is a bit of a show-tune. When listening to Ay, Ay, Rosseta, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Buenas Noches is almost impossible to review. Yo Soy As is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I’ve found myself listening to Oh Marie back to back and back many times. Tanuela is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Hoy Como Ayer gives taste of what makes Camilo Sesto special as a musician.
