‘Only The Theatre Of Pain’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. When you buy a Christian Death album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Christian Death was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Christian Death and Only The Theatre Of Pain together. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Burnt Offerings good vocals. Mysterium Iniquitatis is simple, dignified and effective, Christian Death refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Dream For Mother sets the tone for the entire album. Stairs - Uncertain Journey is the song that really did it for me. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Romeo’s Distress is probably the highlight of the album. Resurrection - Sixth Communion (3:46) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Prayer gets you up and jumping. Only The Theatre Of Pain couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Deathwish. Romeo’s Distress - A classic Christian Death track. Dogs I just LOVE this mix! Desperate Hell is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Spiritual Cramp is pretty funky and mellow. Cavity is the funkiest number on the album.
