Dick Gaughan Handful Of Earth MP3

Dick Gaughan Handful Of Earth imageSince Dick Gaughan last CD (Handful Of Earth) on EMI Records back in 1981, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Dick Gaughan on ‘Both Sides The Tweed’. Self-described as Celtic with lots of words, Dick Gaughan comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Dick Gaughan ever.

Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Handful Of Earth is Workers’ Song. Song For Ireland is so unique, as each one of the songs is. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. The Snows They Melt The Soonest is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Within the first few notes of Lough Ernefirst Kiss At Parting it’s perfectly clear that Dick Gaughan is living this song. The World Turned Upside Down as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Now Westlin Winds from the beginning to the end. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Erin-Go-Bragh actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Dick Gaughan’s face.
