The Great Paris Concert - Disc 2 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. There is no doubt that Duke Ellington has talent. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Duke Ellington. The Great Paris Concert - Disc 2 is not something you should pass up.
Happy-Go-Lucky Local is perfect. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Black and Tan Fantasy - This is a very lively song. Creole Love Call is a strong cut, one of many. Simple and heartfelt closing track The Mooche closes The Great Paris Concert - Disc 2 on a high note. In Things Ain’t What They Used to Be full palet of sound is used by Duke Ellington to accentuate the presentation. Music of Pyramid is gentle, never overbearing. The first time I listened to The Blues (from Black, Brown and Beige) I was struck by its astounding sound. Best song on the album, love it. This song may be the most meaningful.
