Stokholm Concert, 1966 is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This is one of the best Cd’s Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington has dropped to date. Since Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington last CD (Stokholm Concert, 1966) on Mute Records back in 1966, I have felt a massive void in my life. Unappreciated gift to Jazz
Once Duke’s Place gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Satin Doll is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Something To Live For which is my favorite is a truly Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington sounding song. Wives and Lovers - A classic Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington track. So Danqo Samba is probably the highlight of the album. Vocals of Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington in Let’s Do It really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Lover Man has a fun tempo. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Cottontail from the beginning to the end.
