Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Ella Fitzgerald comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since completing 1959’s ‘Sam and Delilah’, Ella Fitzgerald fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Ella Fitzgerald was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Ella Fitzgerald and Sings the George and Ira Gershwin Song Book (CD1) CD1 together. This album is awesome.
Such hits like But Not For Me will leave you hooked. Opening track My One and Only shows the best of Ella Fitzgerald. A fantastic track full of wonder. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I like Nice Work If You Can Get It because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Things Are Looking up as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Just Another Rhumba is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. ‘S Wonderful is one of the best records ever. The Man I Love is such a amazing and optimistic song that things can get just better. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: That Certain Feeling, which shows, blatantly, how much Ella Fitzgerald has evolved as a singer. By Strauss has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Ella Fitzgerald’s strong vocals come to the fore. Someone To Watch Over Me is the first taste of the new album. First time I heard The Real American Folk Song was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Who Cares? pretty much defines how I feel spiritually.
