‘The Irving Berlin Songbook Vol’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Ella Fitzgerald has. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Ella Fitzgerald on ‘Blue Skies’. The Irving Berlin Songbook Vol is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Don’t judge Let’s Face The Music And Dance on the first listening. Suppertime is a excellent sing-along. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. A great put together song. Music in Let Yourself Go is astounding as in all tracks of The Irving Berlin Songbook Vol. Voice and instruments in Heat Wave complement each other. I like the agression and power of You Can Have Her (Him). As always, Ella Fitzgerald’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Russian Lullaby is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This is one hell of a track. You Keep Coming Back Like A So I just LOVE this mix! Get Thee Behind Me Satan defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Reaching For The Moon is pretty funky and mellow. Alexander’s Ragtime Band presents the marvelous mix of instruments on The Irving Berlin Songbook Vol. Slumming On Park Avenue sets the tone for the entire album. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Top Hat, White Tie, And Tails is a very catchy tune. In How About Me? the music gets its power. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: I’m Putting All My Eggs In One, which shows, blatantly, how much Ella Fitzgerald has evolved as a singer. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. This song is dynamic and dramatic. When I listen to Always in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. I Used To Be Color Blind have really caught my ear and imagination. Such hits like It’s A Lovely Day Today will leave you hooked. Strong, powerful vocals of Ella Fitzgerald in Lazy are very impressive. Change Partners is Ella Fitzgerald’s best work in years. How Deep Is The Ocean gives taste of what makes Ella Fitzgerald special as a musician. Still going through The Irving Berlin Songbook Vol and coming to appreciate All By Myself more and more with every listen. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Wa can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Ella Fitzgerald is all about. I now have Remember as one of my personal favorites.
