There is so much to love about Ella Fitzgerald, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On the Holland charts, superstar Ella Fitzgerald’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This album has some very good songs like Jail House Blues and In The Evening (When The Sun Goes Down). Such great and happy songs.
I came to like In The Evening (When The Sun Goes Down). See, See Rider is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. You Don’t Know My Mind is a amazing, simple song by Ella Fitzgerald at the top of his game. Trouble In Mind is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. How Long, How Long Blues (4:01) - awsome. Cherry Red - arguably the best track on These Are The Blues album. Down Hearted Blues - This one is lively and fun. St. Louis Blues is almost impossible to review. Hear Me Talking To Ya has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
