After seeing Help Me, I had to have a good Elvis Presley cd. Promised Land isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Now signed to Elvis Presley’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Promised Land” leads Elvis Presley’s back-to-school campaign. Promised Land is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
If You Talk In Your Sleep - a classic song. Vocals of Elvis Presley in It’s Midnight really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Love Song Of The Year is the albums biggest surprise. Mr.songman - Check out that bassline! Promised Land hits the heart. The sound in There’s A Honky Tonk Angel (Who Will Take Me Back In) is really warm and Elvis Presley’s signature voice is still very much present. Album opener Thinking About You is a bright, upbeat ditty. You Asked Me To - This one is lively and fun. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
