Self-described as Instrumental with lots of words, Ennio Morricone comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Il Grande Silenzio isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Ennio Morricone energies, virtually a rebirth. This album is a scorcher!
Once Passaggi Nel Tempo gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. El L Amore Verra - Ennio Morricone first major hit. Barbara E Tagliente is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Simple and heartfelt closing track Prima Che Volino closes Il Grande Silenzio on a high note. I like Immobile because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Viaggio - arguably the best track on Il Grande Silenzio album. Musically Voci Nel Deserto is superior to other tracks in Il Grande Silenzio. I like the idea behind Gli Assassini E La Madre. In Invito All Amore it becomes nowhere more obvious that Ennio Morricone has yet to define own style. This track is a great song that still never gets old. It’s a great pleasure to listen to L Ultimo Gesto from the beginning to the end. Dopo Il Martirio is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Sensi is perfect. Buio Mattirio is a bit different from Ennio Morricone stereotypical stuff. Ancora Pi - Dolcemente good vocals. Nuddu (Vocal) is the most memorable and marvelous.
