This album has some very good songs like La Rencontre and Le Jardin D’hiver. seven years ago, Francis Lai briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Le Jardin D’hiver”. This is the first studio album from Francis Lai since bad diagnosis in 1968. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Mayerling.
Excellent vocals and musical performances. Venise - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Le Grand Bal - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Francis Lai is one of artists that allow his songs like Mort De Rodolphe to stand on their own and be heard. Le Prater is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Francis Lai ever produced. Valse De La Cour catches attention immediately, Francis Lai must have run out of lyrics on the next track Chevauch9e Dans La Neige. Mayerling (Ouverture) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. It took me a little time but I ended up loving L’arriv9e De Maria.
