Sheik Yerbouti is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Frank Zappa’s debut, ‘Sheik Yerbouti’, does not fit easily into one genre. On the Ireland charts, superstar Frank Zappa’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This album is a scorcher!
After about the third Flakes listen through, I began to believe this song is Frank Zappa’s essence. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. I’m So Cute is possibly the best song Frank Zappa has come up. Jones crusher - My least favorite song on this album. Album opener What Happened To All The Fun In The World is a bright, upbeat ditty. Rat Tomago is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. The song feels complete. Bobby Brown Goes Down - Check out that bassline! In Rubber Shirt it becomes nowhere more obvious that Frank Zappa has yet to define own style. The Sheik Yerbouti Tango is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. If you are a Frank Zappa fan, you will love Baby Snakes. In Tryin’ To Grow A Chin the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Sheik Yerbouti. Frank Zappa sings his heart out in Dancin’ Fool. Jewish Princess - Frank Zappa first major hit. Once Wild Love gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot.
