Since completing 1979’s ‘Freak Of The Week’, Funkadelic fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been nine years Funkadelic’ last studio CD, “Uncle Jam Wants You” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is the first studio album from Funkadelic since bad diagnosis in 1979. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is (Not Just) Knee Deep
(Not Just) Knee Deep is another strong production from Funkadelic. Uncle Jam is a very catchy tune. I’ve found myself listening to Field Maneuvers back to back and back many times. Holly Wants To Go To California is one of the coolest songs Funkadelic has ever recorded. Foot Soldiers (Star-Spangled Funky) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen.
