George Thorogood was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from George Thorogood and Better Than the Rest together. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of George Thorogood energies, virtually a rebirth. There is no doubt that George Thorogood has talent. I wish that “Better Than the Rest” album was instrumental.
In I’m Ready full palet of sound is used by George Thorogood to accentuate the presentation. Goodbye Baby as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Howlin’ For My Darling is the more seemingly obscure song on Better Than the Rest that bear up best to repeated listening. My Weakness was the first single release from the album Better Than the Rest. Nadine is a bit of a show-tune. I believe My Way is one of the most marvelous, heartfelt songs ever written. You’re Gonna Miss Me great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. I find myself hearing bits of Huckle Up Baby here and there throughout my waking hours.
