There is so much to love about Harold Gomberg, oboe; New York Philharmonic, con.Pierre Boulez, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since Harold Gomberg, oboe; New York Philharmonic, con.Pierre Boulez last CD (Le Tombeau de Couperin) on Columbia Records back in 1972, I have felt a massive void in my life. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Harold Gomberg, oboe; New York Philharmonic, con.Pierre Boulez on ‘Prelude’. Last Hot Album by Harold Gomberg, oboe; New York Philharmonic, con.Pierre Boulez
This is one hell of a track. Menuet has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Rigaudon - arguably the best track on Le Tombeau de Couperin album.
