After seeing The Pink Panther Theme, I had to have a good Henry Mancini cd. This album has some very good songs like The Pink Panther Theme and It Had Better Be Tonight (Instrumental). When you buy a Henry Mancini album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Pink Panther And The Return Of The Pink Panther.
It Had Better Be Tonight (Instrumental) - Henry Mancini first major hit. Royal Blue is such a gorgeous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Henry Mancini breathes new life into the music in Champagne And Quail. The Village Inn is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The Tiber Twist hits the heart. Although It Had Better Be Tonight (Vocal) is very melodic it is far from sad. Cortina is so unique, as each one of the songs is. The Lonely Princess is one of the best records ever. This track is clearly meant to showcase Henry Mancini’s vocal abilities. I was truly moved when I heard Piano And Strings. Shades Of Sennett is beautiful, yet underrated track. Best song on the album, love it. The Greatest Gift (Instrumental) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Henry Mancini released so far. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Summer In Gstaad is probably the highlight of the album. So Smooth is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Henry Mancini ever produced. The Return Of The Pink Panther (Part I & Ii) still maintains something of a specific flourish. This is probably my favorite song on the album. The Orange Float is Henry Mancini’s best work in years. Such hits like Dreamy will leave you hooked. No Henry Mancini song has come close to capturing my attention as Disco did. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Belly Belly Bum Bum had me crying as I was able to relate so well. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive.
