While no new Herb Alpert album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1965 tour in South America. Self-described as Instrumental with lots of words, Herb Alpert comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. A&M Classics Volume 1 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Herb Alpert “A&M Classics Volume 1″ is an amazing album.
Herb Alpert allows each song to breathe and flourish. After few listenings I started to like A Taste Of Honey more and more. Green Peppers - This is a very lively song. The Work Song is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. I’m Getting Sentimental Over Y - This one is lively and fun. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Lollipops And Roses hits the heart. Charming song, great melody. Memories Of Madrid is probably the most interesting track on A&M Classics Volume 1. It took me a little time but I ended up loving This Guy’s In Love With You. The Maltise Melody is a very catchy tune. So What’s New is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. First time I heard Tijuana Taxi was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Strong, powerful vocals of Herb Alpert in More And More Amor are very impressive. Herb Alpert offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. I was truly moved when I heard Zorba The Greek. Tangerine is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Musically Mexican Shuffle is superior to other tracks in A&M Classics Volume 1. Marching Thru Madrid is a exquisite song and it grows on you. I believe Mame is one of the most astounding, heartfelt songs ever written. A Banda is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. There is marvelous mix of music in Casino Royale. This track is full of harmonies and gets A&M Classics Volume 1 off to a relaxing start.
