This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Jaco Pastorius has. While no new Jaco Pastorius album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in North America. The Birthday Concert is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Continuum is perfect work of Jaco Pastorius. After you’ve listened to Invitation, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Three View Of A Secret - Jaco Pastorius first major hit. It’s such an underrated song. Punk Jazz is a bit of a show-tune. Happy Birthday marked the continuation of Jaco Pastorius in style evolution. Reza (10:36) - awsome. Domingo is one of the best records ever. Band Intros is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Amerika is a great opener for The Birthday Concert.
