This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that James Blood Ulmer has. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of James Blood Ulmer on ‘Timeless’. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, James Blood Ulmer comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is my first James Blood Ulmer Album and i must say i am blown away.
Pleasure Control - a classic song. Night Lover gives good insight into the truths. Once you hear Where Did All the Girls Come From, you will listen to it over and over. After you’ve listened to High Time, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Hijack is a striking and quite long song. Don’t judge Free Lancing on the first listening. I love the melodic melody of Stand Up to Yourself and to this day it makes me feel good. Rush Hour I just LOVE this mix! Happy Time marked the continuation of James Blood Ulmer in style evolution.
