While no new Janis Joplin album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1971 tour in North America. This disc has all of the essential Janis Joplin classics. Since completing 1971’s ‘Move Over’, Janis Joplin fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. One of Janis Joplin’s best albums yet.
I can’t stop playing Half Moon. Cry Baby - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Me And Bobby Mcgee is beautiful, yet underrated track. Mercedez Benz is excellent and different song. Down On Me is a bit different from Janis Joplin stereotypical stuff. Bye Bye Baby is perfect. Get It While You Can - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Ball And Chain is a medium tempo tune.
