Now signed to Janis Joplin’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Big Brother and The Holding Company” leads Janis Joplin’s back-to-school campaign. After seeing Bye Bye Baby, I had to have a good Janis Joplin cd. This is the first studio album from Janis Joplin since bad diagnosis in 1967. Bye Bye Baby and Easy Rider is really good.
Easy Rider - I like this one. Intruder - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Big Brother and The Holding Company. Call On Me is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Big Brother and The Holding Company have ended. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. In Blindman the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Voice of Janis Joplin in Down On Me is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Caterpillar is absolutely incredible. Janis Joplin allows each song to breathe and flourish. Janis Joplin is hitting on all cylinders in Coo Coo. It’s such an underrated song. Call On Me is perfect work of Janis Joplin. In Bye Bye Baby the music gets its power.
