This is one of the best Cd’s Jazz at Studio One has dropped to date. It has been nine years Jazz at Studio One’ last studio CD, “I Cover The Waterfront” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This album has some very good songs like Gone With The Wind and Green Eyes. I Cover The Waterfront is the best essence of Jazz at Studio One.
In Green Eyes it becomes nowhere more obvious that Jazz at Studio One has yet to define own style. I loved I Cover The Waterfront the first time I heard it. When I listen to I Remember April in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Softly (3:14) a good melody. Sometimes I’m Happy - I like this one. What Is This Thing Called Love is one of the coolest songs Jazz at Studio One has ever recorded.
