I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Enigmatic Ocean’ really is amazing. There is no doubt that Jean-Luc Ponty has talent. This is the first studio album from Jean-Luc Ponty since bad diagnosis in 1977. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
The Trans-Love Express gives taste of what makes Jean-Luc Ponty special as a musician. Mirage is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Enigmatic Ocean - Part I is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Enigmatic Ocean - Part II make listening to Jean-Luc Ponty like being in some sort of time warp. I’ve found myself listening to Enigmatic Ocean - Part III back to back and back many times. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Nostalgic Lady is a marvelous song and it grows on you. The Struggle Of The Turtle To The Sea - Part I is the first taste of the new album. I have all of Jean-Luc Ponty’s tracks and The Struggle Of The Turtle To The Sea - Partii is probably the most his introspective effort. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor.
