Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Jefferson Airplane on ‘She Has Funny Cars’. Now signed to Jefferson Airplane’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Surrealistic Pillow” leads Jefferson Airplane’s back-to-school campaign. Lead single “She Has Funny Cars” and “Somebody To Love” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. She Has Funny Cars and Somebody To Love is really good.
The opening track Somebody To Love is very much like you would expect from other albums. My Best Friend very upbeat. Jefferson Airplane must have run out of lyrics on the next track Today. No Jefferson Airplane song has come close to capturing my attention as Comin Back To Me did. 3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Jefferson Airplane. If you are a Jefferson Airplane fan, you will love D.C.B.A. - 25. How Do You Feel is almost impossible to review. Embryonic Journey - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Musically White Rabbit is superior to other tracks in Surrealistic Pillow. Plastic Fantastic Lover is one of my favorite songs by Jefferson Airplane.
