This is one of the best Cd’s Joan Baez has dropped to date. It has been ten years Joan Baez’ last studio CD, “Diamonds and Rust” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I am not a real Country music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Diamonds and Rust’ really is amazing. Diamonds and Rust is the best essence of Joan Baez.
Fountain Of Sorrow is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Children And All That Jazz (3:08) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Simple Twist Of Fate rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Voice of Joan Baez in Blue Sky is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Hello In There - My least favorite song on this album. Jesse is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Winds Of The Old Days - A classic Joan Baez track. The opening track Dida is very much like you would expect from other albums. As always, Joan Baez’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again.
