On the Bulgaria charts, superstar Joao Gilberto’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Bossa Nova Jubileu isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Joao Gilberto was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Joao Gilberto and Bossa Nova Jubileu together. This is my first Joao Gilberto Album and i must say i am blown away.
Doralice is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Musically A primeira vez is superior to other tracks in Bossa Nova Jubileu. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. O pato is really a nice song to relax and listen too. A felicidade - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Desafinado is astounding. I find myself hearing bits of Manh de carnaval here and there throughout my waking hours. Maria ninguem is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Chega de saudade (2:02) - awsome. Insensatez is the funkiest number on the album. Lobo bobo has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Joao Gilberto offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself.
