Guitar Virtuoso CD2 is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Since Joe Pass last CD (Guitar Virtuoso CD2) on Savoy Records back in 1977, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Joe Pass energies, virtually a rebirth. Smart music for smart people.
A great put together song. Gee Baby, Ain’t I Good to You is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Do Nothin’ Till You Hear from Me is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Seulb is a medium tempo tune. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Voice and instruments in Bluesology complement each other. Cotton Tail is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. O Barquinho is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. After few listenings I started to like Gentle Rain (Chuva Delicada) more and more. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is As Long as I Live. It Ain’t Necessarily So is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Once D-Joe gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. From the moment you listen to Anouman you’re hooked. Belleville has a beautifully haunting disco flavor.
