I Remember Charlie Parker carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Joe Pass’s album I Remember Charlie Parker falls to No. 2 with 132,000, a sales slide of 64%. It’s natural for Joe Pass to take a stab at ‘Just Friends’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. I Remember Charlie Parker constantly brilliant.
Joe Pass offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Summertime make listening to Joe Pass like being in some sort of time warp. I’ve found myself listening to April In Paris back to back and back many times. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in I Remember Charlie Parker. Laura (4:14) - awsome. They Can’t Take That Away From Me on I Remember Charlie Parker is solid and easy to listen to. I Didn’t Know What Time It Was - a classic song. In If I Should Lose You it becomes nowhere more obvious that Joe Pass has yet to define own style. You have to get essence of the Out Of Nowhere (Concept I)’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Out Of Nowhere (Concept II) is a bit different from Joe Pass stereotypical stuff.
