John Coltrane had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Lead single “Bamsha Swing” and “Cherryco” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. When you buy a John Coltrane album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Avant Garde.
Cherryco is a medium tempo tune. Focus On Sanity is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Opening track The Blessing shows the best of John Coltrane. The Invisible is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better.
