This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by John Lee Hooker. Lead single “No Shoes” and “I Wanna Walk” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of John Lee Hooker on ‘No Shoes’. One of John Lee Hooker’s best albums yet.
Simple and heartfelt closing track I Wanna Walk closes Travelin’ on a high note. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Travelin’. If you are a John Lee Hooker fan, you will love Run On. I’m Stranger on Travelin’ is solid and easy to listen to. Whiskey and Wimmen is a excellent sing-along. Solid Sender is nothing but pure genius. Get Travelin’ and turn on Sunny Land if you are going to sip your wine late at night. This track is clearly meant to showcase John Lee Hooker’s vocal abilities. I Can’t Believe is a very catchy tune. I’ll Know Tonight is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. A great put together song.
