After seeing Extrapolation, I had to have a good John McLaughlin cd. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Extrapolation’ really is amazing. It has been three years John McLaughlin’ last studio CD, “Extrapolation” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I wish that “Extrapolation” album was instrumental.
It’s Funny is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Arjen’s Bag as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. I like the agression and power of Pete The Poet. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. In Spectrum it becomes nowhere more obvious that John McLaughlin has yet to define own style. Don’t judge Binky’s Dream on the first listening. Extrapolation couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Really You Know. Two For Two make listening to John McLaughlin like being in some sort of time warp. Peace Piece I just LOVE this mix!
